LA CUENTA DEL CANGREJO / LE CONTE DU CRABBE
El abuelo del artista peruano Carlos Runcie Tanaka cruzó el Océano Pacífico para llegar al Perú a iniciar una nueva vida. Él era un inmigrante nacido en Japón. Treinta años después, luego de criar una familia, se ahogó en el mar de Lima (capital de Perú). El mar lo llevó a Perú y selló su destino. El cangrejo es un animal marino que vive en la playa. Para el artista el cangrejo es un símbolo de los inmigrantes.

The grandfather of Peruvian artist Carlos Runcie Tanaka crossed the Pacific Ocean to get to Perú to start a new life. He was a Japanese-born immigrant. Thirty years latter, after raising a family, he was drowned in the sea of Lima (the capital of Perú). The sea brought him to Perú and sealed his destiny. The crab is a sea creature that lives on the beach. For the artist the crab is a symbol of the immigrant.
Le grand-père de l’artiste péruvien Carlos Runcie-Tanaka a traversé par bateau l’Océan Pacifique pour arriver au Pérou et commencer une nouvelle vie. Il était un immigrant japonais de première génération. Trente ans plus tard, après avoir fondé une famille, il s’est noyé dans la mer de Lima (capitale du Pérou). La mer l’a emmené au Pérou et a scellé son destin. Le crabe est une créature de la mer qui habite sur la plage. Pour l’artiste le crabe est un symbole de l’immigrant.
